Creaghan Harry was introduced to the needs of the Children
Over eight years ago, in 2016, Creaghan Harry was introduced to the needs of the Children of the Sun, a small orphanage with about 25 children. The orphanage was struggling financially, despite having a wonderful and dedicated staff of caring adults. Every one of these beautiful children was born with HIV and had been abandoned. On his first visit to the orphanage, Creaghan knew he had to get involved. These children needed hope, and hope came from stability and love. This marked the beginning of Creaghan Harry’s connection to Paola Velásquez and the amazing children of Niños del Sol. Creaghan immediately began financially sponsoring the organization to help cover food, electricity, and other daily needs.
Each visit to the orphanage was filled with countless hours of soccer, tree climbing, tossing the kids up in the air, and catching them, as well as enjoying lunch, dinner, and reading stories together. As he prepared to leave, the children would grab onto his legs, begging him to stay longer. He realized they needed more long-term connections. Creaghan returned to his company and invited employees to apply to become big brothers or big sisters to the kids, with one crucial requirement: they must remain in the children’s lives, regardless of employment or personal circumstances. After an overwhelming response, employees were matched with the children. The kids blossomed, and the big brothers and sisters provided a real, stable connection for each child.
Paola Velásquez continues her loving work with the children. She is a gift from God to this world. Anyone who wishes to help, please reach out to her. To learn more, watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzcvqSrgSTQ
